AlterEgo
AlterEgo is a developing project from the MIT Media Lab creating a non-invasive, wearable neural interface. The device detects neuromuscular signals from the face and jaw - known as subvocalization - to translate internal speech into computer commands. This technology enables a silent, hands-free computing experience, allowing users to communicate with AI assistants and digital services without speaking aloud or using motor movements. This technology addresses critical bottlenecks in computational efficiency and data governance, supporting broader industrial automation.
